About OSI Clinics

Operational Stress Injury Clinic Network

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and substance abuse are types of operational stress injuries (OSI). By using OSI Connect, the help you may need is close at hand. Our OSI Clinics across Canada specialize in treating these conditions for veterans, Canadian Armed Forced members, and RCMP members that come from combat, high stress situations or operational fatigue. We are here to help you and your family.

Facilities Across Canada

There are nine outpatient clinics in eight provinces as well as a residential facility near Montreal. Each clinic has a dedicated professional team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, mental health nurses, and other specialized clinicians. They use their knowledge of the military and police environment and cultures to develop personalized OSI treatment plans with you. Your spouse and close family members can also be involved in the treatment process.

Team-Based Consistent Treatment

Team-based consistent treatment is an important strength of the clinics. Through this specialized treatment, you can deal with difficulties, develop treatment objectives, access resources, and improve your quality of life. While continuing to live in your community, you attend periodic appointments at the OSI clinic except for the residential and inpatient stabilization treatment programs. If there is no clinic in your area, you may also be able to get services via TeleHealth. The network is set up to provide telehealth services in all 13 provinces and territories. You are also are offered a variety of treatment options including individual therapies, group sessions, psycho-education sessions and access to other resources.

As Your Treatment Progresses

As your treatment progresses, the OSI Clinic helps you plan to maintain your health improvements, and the referring health professional or the Veterans Affairs Canada district office case manager is consulted as part of this process to ensure you continue to receive the care you need.

Referrals and Eligibility

To receive services at the clinic, Canadian Armed Forced Veterans and RCMP members require a referral. Veterans and retired RCMP are asked to discuss a referral with their VAC case manager. People without case managers may call 1.866.522.2122 (English) or 1.866.522.2022 (French) to inquire about their eligibility. Canadian Armed Forced regular and reserve members who are still serving should contact their Base Medical Officer. RCMP members should speak with their Divisional Health Services Officer.
